Hollywood comedian Paul Mooney is currently being treated in an Oakland hospital.
According to a report by the comedy website The Humor Mill, Mooney has been hospitalized multiple times over the last 45 days following an undisclosed surgery recently.
The 72-year-old funnyman’s recent hospitalization is his third, but apparently doctors want to make sure he is completely well before releasing him this time.
The Shreveport, Louisiana-bred comic is known to contemporary fans for his appearances on Dave Chappelle’s Comedy Central sketch comedy series, “Chappelle’s Show.”
Mooney is also known for his work as head writer for Richard Pryor and for writing on sitcoms like “Good Times” and “Sanford & Sons.”
