Erika has filed documents to dissolve their 18-year marriage from Randy citing “irreconcilable differences.”
She wants full physical custody and joint legal custody of their 17-year-old son, Jordan. The couple also has an adult daughter.
Erika is also seeking spousal support and is asking for Randy to pay her attorney’s fees.
The couple does not have a prenuptial agreement and he is estimated to be worth as much as $40 million. She will likely get half of his income. They also continue to live together while going through their split.
This is Randy’s second divorce. He has a daughter from his previous marriage.
A former member of the rock band Journey, Randy spent 12 seasons on a judge on Fox’s competition series “American Idol.”
For season 13, Randy shifted to a mentor position on the series.
In addition to working on “American Idol,” Randy served for a time as manager of his best friend Mariah Carey; produced a reality series for MTV called “America’s Best Dance Crew;” realeased a CD, “Randy Jackson’s Music Club, Volume 1” via Concord Records; and worked as a music executive for the now defunct MCA Records.
