Grammy-winning R&B star Toni Braxton was hospitalized in Los Angeles this weekend.
The star of WE TV’s “Braxton Family Values” told fans on Twitter that she was battling some “health issues related to Lupus and blood clots.”
Her rep confirmed she was dealing with a “minor health issue,” but would not offer any additional details.
The 45-year-old singer was released from the hospital on Sunday and shared that she was “feeling a little better.”
Braxton has a nurse doing home monitoring of her for a few days while she continues to recover.
The “Un-break My Heart” singer disclosed two years ago she has Lupus, a potentially deadly autoimmune disease that actually killed Braxton’s uncle.
She also suffers from a narrowing of the blood vessels in her heart, which is why she left abruptly had to end her Las Vegas production, “Toni Braxton: Revealed” in 2008.
In a recent interview with ABC’s “20/20,” Braxton revealed that her doctors told her the Lupus diagnosis meant her performing career would likely be significantly impacted by Lupus. She claims that the disease also was also the cause of her recent bankruptcy.
