Popular Los Angeles ministry One Church International held a fundraiser called “One Church, One Night” recently to raise money for the church’s new home in West Hollywood, California. The ministry also plans to donate a portion of the evening’s proceeds to support BrittiCares International, which assists children with Cancer; and an organization supporting the children of the Newtown, Connecticut shooting.
The “One Church, One Night” benefit was hosted by “Single Ladies” star LisaRaye McCoy and minister/film executive DeVon Franklin. The night included performance by Tammi Haddon, KJ Scriven, Sharon Youngblood, Larry Walker, Chief Wakil and P.S.A.L.M.S Choir featuring Jason McGee.
The event was broadcast over the internet and seen in more than 150 countries.
McCoy and Franklin, who both regularly frequent One Church, commended Pastor Touré Roberts for his vision for creating the ministry eight years ago. At that time, the businessman left corporate America and answered the call to serve God and ultimately lead those called to the entertainment industry to use their gifts and talents to further God’s reach to the world.
“One Church is a place where you can come to meet with God and hear a message that will inspire you to be a better person,” said McCoy.
Franklin added: “Tonight is a divine appointment. We thank God for Pastor Touré’s heart to sow into others and help us demonstrate God’s love on a daily basis.”
