Hollywood actors Essence Atkins (“Haunted House”), Richard Brooks (“Being Mary Jane”), Victoria Rowell (“The Young and The Restless”), Latarsha Rose (“Being Mary Jane”), and Joyful Drake (“Let’s Stay Together”) were all in Washington, DC to star in Patricia Cuffie-Jones’ new play, “You Can’t Hurry Love.”
Also in the cast were newcomers Scott St. Patrick and Clinton Lewis (both starred in Jones’ play “Love Soul Deep”); as well as DC native Ivan Ellis, who entered a contest for a chance to join the cast.
“You Can’t Hurry Love was filmed at BET Studios in Washington, DC on a soundstage and shot for DVD and television airing. R&B singer Kenny Lattimore and Kellie S. Williams (“Family Matters”) hosted the evening.
In audience for the show were Clifton Powell (“Next Friday”), Gizelle Bryant and Charrisse Jackson Jordan of “Real Housewives of Potomac,” renowned matchmaker and TV host Paul Carrick Brunson, Kevin Durant’s mom Wanda Pratt, DC Mayor Muriel Bowser, and a host of other local politicians.
