Talk show host Wendy Williams has posed nude for PETA’s “Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur” campaign.
The 48-year-old talk show host unveiled her PETA ad in Times Square as part of PETA’s national winter campaign.
Williams’ campaign features two variations (both featured below), with the TV talent’s extra long wig covering her private parts.
The former radio shock jock was once an avid fur wearer who wore real mink and fox fur coats and accessories.
Williams—who said she hasn’t “given fur any thought for a good seven years”—decided to stop wearing real fur after learning about the alleged process of making the garments.
“We should all try to be comfortable in our own skin and let the animals keep theirs,” said Williams.
In addition to posing in the PETA advertisement, Williams will encourage viewers her syndicated daytime talk show to donate their fur coats to PETA so that they can be given to the homeless.PETA is working with shelters in Williams’ home state of New Jersey on their coat drives this winter, which have seen greater demand as the numbers of the needy and displaced have increased after Hurricane Sandy.
Other stars who have posed nude for PETA campaigns include actress Eva Mendes, rapper Waka Flacka Flame, Oscar nominee Taraji P. Henson, NBA star Gilbert Arenas and NFL players Willis McGahee and Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson.
