Weekday Worship: Hezekiah Walker Launches National Radio Show

Grammy Award winner Hezekiah Walker’s music is already in heavy rotation on gospel radio stations across the country, but now the veteran recording artist will soon be heard nationwide with a new syndicated radio show called “The Hezekiah Walker Show.”

In an announcement made by Rejoice! MSF (Musical Soul Food Radio Network) and first reported by ROOT magazine, Walker will partner with Rejoice! MSF and Sun Broadcast Group on the new national weekday radio program.

rejoiceThe “Every Praise” and “Better” singer is no stranger to radio broadcasting, currently hosting a daily show on New York’s WLIB 1190AM called “Afternoon Praise with Bishop Hezekiah Walker” that is co-hosted by Neicy Tribbett. That show airs from 3pm to 7pm, Monday through Friday.

But Walker’s new show will be a one-hour show that Rejoice! MSF aims to get gospel and mainstream R&B and hip-hop stations to carry. There will also be a two-hour weekend program targeting multiple radio formats.

“I am excited about teaming up with such an influential organization in the gospel music industry as the Rejoice Musical Soul Food Radio Network. So radio look out, here we come,” said Walker in a statement.

The 53-year-old singer and pastor of the Love Fellowship Tabernacle (Brooklyn, NY and Bensalem, PA) joins a roster of other music artists who have radio shows with Rejoice! MSF. Dorinda Clark Cole, Melvin Williams of The Williams Brothers, Dottie Peoples and Coko of SWV all have syndicated radio programs as well with the network.

“The addition of Hezekiah Walker to our lineup of powerful celebrity-driven shows positions us to increase our impact in the gospel music arena,” said Mike Chandler, President of Rejoice! MSF.

“The Hezekiah Walker Show” will launch this November.
