Howard Stern’s longtime radio co-host Robin Quivers announced on their SiriusXM radio show that she’s been battling cancer for the past year. Quivers revealed that she’s now cancer free.
The 61-year-old radio talent disclosed that her cancer developed from endometrial tissue, which is tissue in the uterus. She underwent treatment for the cancer over the past year, which included chemotherapy. Quivers said the treatment worked and the prognosis from her doctors is that she’s cancer free.
The often inappropriate and cynical Stern was quite emotional during Quivers reveal and confessed: “I gotta be honest; I thought she was a goner.”
Quivers said doctors initially discovered a “mass” in her pelvis last year and decided to perform surgery to investigate the situation.
She said the cancerous tumor was about the size of a grapefruit and took eight hours to remove.
“Robin means more to me than anything,” said Stern, before adding: “Seeing her go through this just f—-g tore me up.”
Quivers said Stern was supportive throughout the entire process and she never felt alone.
The Baltimore-bred radio host had been absent from the Stern studio over the last year because she had been doing her radio broadcasts from home while undergoing cancer treatment.
