Burruss has created a musical called “A Mother’s Love” with original songs that is loosely based on her life with fiancé, television producer Todd Tucker. The 37-year-old singer/songwriter is facing issues with her own mom, who has problems with her relationship with Tucker.
The “Fly Above” singer has cast Eddie Levert, Shirley Murdock, Q Parker of 112, D. Woods formerly of Danity Kane, actress Chandra Currelley, former NFL player Orlick Johnson and “Real Housewives” cast member Porsha Stewart, among others.
“When it comes to relationships and things, mothers-not just my mother-have a problem letting to. It’s inspired by my relationship with my mother,” she told Fox Atlanta. “It goes through the tough times. Obviously, at the end, it’s a wonderful happy ending.”
Burruss took to her Instagram to let fans know why they should support her latest project.
“I’m so excited! Everyone is going to be there so you should be also,” wrote Burruss.
The former Xscape singer also explained how Perry influenced her to become a playwright.
“I’m trying to do it all, and I want to continue to do more,” Burruss told Fox. “I look up to people like Tyler Perry…I want to continue to take it bigger and better.”
The production will premiere at Atlanta’s Rialto Theater from November 22-24.
