It’s the end of an era for BET’s “106 & Park.” After a 14-year run, BET has canceled the music video countdown and interview show. The final TV broadcast on Dec. 19.

The ratings-plagued “106 & Park” had been rumored to be in trouble for several years now. Back in 2012, reports surfaced that the show had been canceled but BET shot them down.

Now hosted by rapper Bow Wow and Keshia Chante, the once-thriving entertainment show is often outperformed in the ratings by “Bobby Jones Gospel,” which only airs weekly at 9am on Sunday mornings.

“We all have our favorite moments from the show that has put youth culture on television daily since the first year of this century. We have pride in being involved with the show that has welcomed almost every movie star, music superstar and fresh-faced talent you can name (you can even throw in a First Lady). We’ve all laughed with and been entertained by the young men and women hosts that have charmed us at 6 p.m. (and more recently 5 p.m.) each weekday,” said Stephen Hill, BET’s President of Music Programming and Specials, in a statement about the show.

When “106 & Park” premiered on Sept. 11, 2000, the show was hosted A.J. Calloway and Free. Both hosts left the show five years after being there.

Following A.J. and Free’s exit from the show, folks like Julissa, Big Tigger, Terrence J, Rocsi Diaz, Paigion, Shorty and Ms. Mykie have hosted the program.

No word on what BET plans to air in the “106 & Park” time slot.  A statement from BET indicates that “106 & Park” may live on in a non-daily variation of the show on BET’s website.
