Condoleezza Rice: Former Secretary of State Becomes CBS Contributor

On the heels of their announcement that Financial Guru, Mellody Hobson had been named a Contributor and Analyst on Finance and the Economy for CBS News, the network has also announced they have hired Condoleezza Rice.

The former secretary of state will become a regular contributor for CBS, an appointment made by CBS News chairman, Jeff Fager, and the president, David Rhodes.

The 58-year-old Rice, who served her country under President George W. Bush from 2005 to 2009, and national security adviser from 2001 to 2005, is expected to comment regularly on national and international issues.

Since leaving office, Ms. Rice has worked as professor of political economy and political science at Stanford University, and is a founding partner of a business consulting firm, RiceHadleyGates.

The Birmingham, Alabama-bred political figure is also a classically trained pianist who has performed shows post-administration with singer Aretha Franklin and cellist Yo-Yo Ma.
