As the daytime soap “One Life To Live” is gearing up for its big digital return, the series has added a new cast member.
“High School Musical” star Corbin Bleu is joining the cast. The 24-year-old actor will play a character named Jeffrey King, a young reporter friend of Matthew Buchanan (Robert Gorrie) and Danielle Manning (Kelley Missal) who comes to town to work for Llanview’s newspaper The Banner under Victoria Lord (Erica Slezak).
Bleu, a recording artist who most recently starred in the Broadway revival of “Godspell,” has never appeared on a daytime soap.
In addition to Bleu joining the cast, a lot of “One Life To Live” favorites are returning to the fictitious Llanview, Pennsylvania as well.
Previous stars Melissa Archer (Natalie Buchanan Banks), Kassie DePaiva (Blair Cramer), Laura Harrier (Destiny Evans), Roger Howarth (Todd Manning), Josh Kelly (Cutter Wentworth), Florencia Lozano (Tea Delgado), Hillary B. Smith (Nora Buchanan), Robin Strasser (Dorian Lord), Andrew Trischitta (Jack Manning), Jerry verDorn (Clint Buchanan), Tuc Watkins (David Vickers), Robert S. Woods (Bo Buchanan), and Shenaz Treasury (Rama Patel) are also returning for the re-launch.
Prospect Park’s revival of the soap opera will begin production this Monday. The show returns with new 30-minute episodes on April 29 on Prospect Park’s The Online Network, which can be streamed via Hulu, Hulu Plus, and on iTunes.
“One Life To Live” was cancelled by ABC after 43 years and the last episode aired on January 13, 2012.
