TV One’s “Hollywood Divas” is gearing up for season two.
The ensemble series made up of actresses Golden Brooks (“Girlfriends”), Countess Vaughn (“The Parkers”), Paula Jai Parker (“Hustle & Flow”), Elise Neal (“The Hughleys”) and former reality star Lisa Wu (“Real Housewives of Atlanta”) is already in production on its second season.
AlwaysAList.com spotted some the show’s stars, including new cast member Shar Jackson (“Moesha”), shooting scenes on Tom Joyner’s Fantastic Voyage in April. One of the show’s executive producers confirmed to us that Jackson has joined the cast for the new season. During season one, the 38-year-old actress made a few cameo appearances on the show in support of her friend and former co-star Vaughn.
It was previously announced that veteran actress Vivica A. Fox would be joining “Hollywood Divas” for the second season. Our friends at TheJasmineBrand.com were the first to report that things did not work out with the 50-year-old “Curb Your Enthusiasm” star.
On Twitter, a fan named @ThePootiestTang asked Fox: “I wonder if @MsVivicaFox is really gonna be on the next season of #HollywoodDivas.” The actress replied: “NO darling Its not going to happen.”
In a separate tweet, Fox told TheJasmineBrand.com that “No, I didn’t quit the show my contract just didn’t work out! I wish them well on a great season.”
In addition to having a highly successful wig line, Fox is in production on the “Independence Day” sequel and is gearing up for the release of “Chocolate City.”
“Hollywood Divas” is executive produced by Carlos King and Todd Tucker. The premiere season of the franchise was so successful that TV One is exploring launching a spin-off in Atlanta. The second season of the show premieres this fall.
