Tia Mowry-Hardrict’s new sitcom “Instant Mom” is a hit! The show, which airs on Sunday nights on Nick at Nite/NickMom, has been picked up for a 20-episode second season order.
Nickelodeon has also ordered six more episodes of “Instant Mom’s” first season, which will bring its total to 26 episodes. The network has been high on the show from the beginning, ordering seven additional episodes before its premiere.
The multi-camera family comedy stars Mowry-Hardrict as Stephanie, a party girl who trades in Cosmos for carpools when she marries Charlie (play by Michael Boatman), who already has three kids.
“Instant Mom” also stars former “Moesha” star Sheryl Lee Ralph as Maggie, the mother of Mowry’s character. Young actors Sydney Park, Tylen Williams and Damarr Calhoun round out the cast playing Charlie’s three children.
“Instant Mom” has average 1.2 million total viewers per episode.
