Kandi Burruss: Preps Wedding Special & Releases Play DVD

Bravo is gearing up for the June 1 debut of Kandi Burruss’s latest spin-off series, “Kandi’s Wedding.”

The “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star will chronicle her road to the alter with fiancé Todd Tucker in a wedding series showcasing their journey.

In a clip (posted below), you will see the R&B singer gearing up for her nuptials and dealing with the backlash she continues to get from her mother, Mama Joyce.

Burruss’s wedding actually took place on Friday April 4 at Atlanta’s Le Fais Do-Do event facility.

The former member of the R&B group Xscape wore a custom $20,000 Reco Chapple gown with a 12-foot train.

Her bridesmaids included matron of honor Tamera Wynn, maid of honor Carmon Cambrice, Tameka ‘Tiny’ Harris, Fantasia Barrino, rapper Rasheeda Frost, Phaedra Parks and Joyce Dallas.

AlwaysAList.com was on hand for the wedding, as was “The View’s” Sherri Shepherd, Tamar Braxton and husband Vince Herbert, singer Monica, Keisha Knight Pulliam, Big Tigger, Derek J, reality star Monyetta Shaw, Jazzy Pha, Toya Wright and husband Memphis, Chef Roble, reality star Jervon “Vawn” Simmon, Miss Lawrence, Stevie J, Dice of “La La’s Full Court Life,” Benzino, Sharlinda Parker and “Real Housewives of Atlanta” stars Cynthia Bailey, Peter Thomas, Porsha Williams and Sheree Whitfield.

During the “Coming to America” themed wedding, both Q. Parker and Musiq Soulchild performed. At the reception there were performances by Soulchild, Doug E. Fresh and Bell Biv Devoe.

In addition to gearing up for the TV special, Burruss just released her DVD/CD set of her play “A Mother’s Love.”

The play was the Grammy winner’s creative way to coping with the conflict between her mother and her fiancé.

The musical played starred Burruss, Eddie Levert, Shirley Murdock, Q. Parker, D. Woods, Chandra Currelly, and “Real Housewives” star Williams.

The production played several sold-out shows at the Rialto Center for the Arts in Atlanta and Burruss is preparing to tour the show this fall.
