Keke Palmer: Youngest TV Talk Show Host In U.S. History

Former child star Keke Palmer will debut her talk show, “Just Keke” on Monday, June 30 on BET.

The daytime talk show will air at 5pm ET five days a week in an initial four week test run.

The Harvey, Illi.-bred talent’s chat show will combine social issues, pop culture, fashion, relationships, celebrity interviews and more.

“Just Keke” will make Palmer the youngest talk show host in U.S. television history.

The previous record was held by for “The Cosby Show” star Tempestt Bledsoe, who was 22-years-old when her short-lived talk show “The Tempestt Bledsoe Show” premiered in 1995.  Bledsoe’s was younger than the previous record holder, Ricki Lake, who was 24-years-old when her long-running “The Ricki Lake Show” first aired.

This is BET’s second daytime talk show attempt. The network’s last daytime series was “Oh Drama,” which was hosted by Kym Whitley, Vanessa Bell Calloway and Mari Morrow and aired for two seasons from 2000 to 2002.

Palmer first made an impact starring in “Akeelah and the Bee” before going on to land roles in films like “Madea’s Family Reunion,” “Joyful Noise,” “Abducted: The Carlina White Story” and “CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story.”

A former Nickelodeon star, who fronted the network sitcom “True Jackson, VP,” Palmer also released her debut CD, “So Uncool” in 2007 via Atlantic Records.
