Comedian Kevin Hart is the cover subject of the newest Ebony magazine.
In the glossy, the 30-year-old funnyman talks about why he doesn’t tell any gay jokes “at all.”
“The repercussions for saying certain words are harsh, and careers have been shut down,” Hart explained. “I can understand how people could be affected by certain words and slurs. I get it. My way of showing respect is to not play around with it, not mention it, not joke with it at all. I understand how serious it is.”
The Philadelphia-bred talent also revealed in the interview that he went through a dishonest phase.
“When I was married, I definitely went through a lying period,” the divorced father of two told Ebony. “I just turned into a liar, but you learn from your mistakes. Being that guy once upon a time has helped me develop into the man I am now, and I approach relationships in a completely different manner.”
The “Think Like a Man” star, has roles in at least seven new films being released in the next year, hosted “Saturday Night Live” for the first time this past weekend.
Ratings during Hart’s appearance were up 4% in households ratings from when Oscar nominee Christoph Waltz hosted show previously.
