The show, titled “Life With La Toya,” will show the 56-year-old entertainer working to carve out her own niche in the entertainment business outside of her family.
Once considered the black sheep of the Jackson family – she posed for Playboy and even sold family secrets to tabloids – Jackson will give viewers a glimpse into her life as a single woman looking to take her career to the next level on her own terms.
“I am so pleased to be working with television legend Oprah Winfrey and to be a part of the OWN family,” Jackson said. “This will be one of the most exciting adventures of my life.”
Jackson, the fifth of the Jackson’s nine siblings, is no stranger to reality television. The Gary, Ind.-born singer is currently a contestant on Donald Trump’s “All-Star Celebrity Apprentice.” She originally appeared on the 2011 season of “Celebrity Apprentice.”
The gaudy “Heart Don’t Lie” singer was also a cast member on CBS’s ill-fated “Armed & Famous” show in 2007, which showed celebrities basic training and service as a reserve police officer with the Muncie Police Department.
