Singer/actress LeToya Luckett has landed a new acting role.
The half-hour show, “Ballers,” focuses on the lives of both retired and active professional football athletes. Johnson will also star in the show, playing a character named Spencer Strasmore, a retired athlete.
Luckett will portray Tina, a widow to one of the lead character’s closest friends. The Houston-bred talent currently stars on VH1’s “Single Ladies.”
The show also stars Omar Benson Miller, Denzel Washington’s son John David Washington, Donovan Carter, Jazmyn Simon, Taylor Cole, Rob Corddry and Troy Garity.
“Ballers,” also produced by Mark Wahlberg, will start production later this year.
