Academy Award-winning actress Mo’Nique is hosting the reunion special for “Love & Hip Hop.”
While no formal announcement has been made, cast members of the controversial VH1 reality show posted photos with the comedienne from the taping on Instagram.
Mo’Nique would likely be the first Oscar winner to host a reality show reunion special. Prior to winning an Academy Award for her co-starring role in “Precious,” Mo’Nique starred on VH1’s “Flavor of Love: Charm School” and hosted that reunion special.
Previous “Love & Hip Hop” reunions have been hosted by the show’s executive producer, Mona Scott-Young.
Earlier this year, it was announced that the 45-year-old funny woman was developing a talk show pilot with an ABC executive that would be shopped to Tribune and Fox networks.
The Baltimore-bred talent previously hosted a nighttime talk show for BET called “The Mo’Nique Show.” After two seasons, Mo’Nique’s show was canceled because of declining ratings and creative differences behind the scenes.
The former star of “The Parkers,” who recently lost more than 85 pounds, has not starred in a movie since winning her Academy Award nor been featured in a television project since her BET show was canceled.
