The Bravo TV star was answering Twitter messages from fans, when one inquired whether she will “ever go on Wendy’s show again?” Leakes replied to the fan: “No.”
Apparently, the latest riff stems from a message the 45-year-old TV reality star posted on Twitter on July 18.
It read: “Just saw a list of all the new reality shows that r coming soon! Everybody is a reality star now! WOW! I gotta go.”
During the “Hot Topics” segment on her syndicated daytime show, “The Wendy Williams Show,” the 49-year-old TV host addressed the backlash that Leakes was receiving for posting the message.
“Yeah, NeNe, everybody is a reality star now. In case you’ve noticed, people watch more reality shows than sitcoms,” Williams offered, making reference to Leake’s recently cancelled NBC sitcom “The New Normal.”
The talk show host continued: “This was kitchen table talk. This was not something you were supposed to tweet. You should have just kept your mouth closed with this one. Yeah, everyone is a reality star now just like you. NeNe also, that would be like scripted TV stars, in other words like the real actors, saying all reality stars wanna be TV sitcom stars like you. Or all the talk show hosts wanna do Broadway. Don’t hate on everyone’s hustle.”
The former stripper, who will now reportedly make $1 million for her next season on the “Real Housewives of Atlanta,” apparently did now appreciate the open rebuke by Williams.
When a fan asked, “what happened between you and Wendy,” Leakes replied: “That’s a good question! I have no idea.”
Williams and Leakes have had issues before.
Back in March, Leakes got upset about Williams discussing her relationship with her husband, Gregg Leakes, whom she divorced and re-married for an upcoming Bravo spin-off, “I Dream Of Nene: The Wedding.”
On March 13, the Leakes wrote: “@WendyWilliams don’t know S–T about my relationship! Have u ever seen her and Kevin kiss? Yuck”
Williams, who supported Leakes when she competed on Donald Trump’s “The Celebrity Apprentice” three years ago, has not commented on the issue.
