The TV mogul’s OWN Network has ordered a fourth scripted series from Perry based on his upcoming film, “Single Moms Club.”
Perry’s new hour-long drama will premiere in the fall and centers around a group of single mothers from different walks of life who are brought together by an incident at their children’s school. They crew of women create a support group that helps them find comedy in the obstacles of life, and inner strength to overcome their personal challenges.
As with his other series, the 44-year-old New Orleans native will write, produce and direct the series. The show will be produced by his Tyler Perry Studios banner, which AlwaysAList.com reported back in October 2012 inked an overall deal with OWN.
The feature film version of “Single Moms Club” will hit theaters in March. The movie versus stars Perry, as well as Terry Crews, Amy Smart, Nia Long, Eddie Cibrian, Cocoa Brown, William Levy and others.
The TV version of “Single Moms Club” will have an entirely new cast.
