Don’t look for Pooch Hall to resume his character of Derwin when “The Game” returns on BET for its sixth season.
Last summer, it was reported that both Hall and his co-star Tia Mowry would be leaving the series.
Fans of the show were outraged at the idea that both Derwin and Melanie would no longer be apart of the dramedy.
The Brockton, Mass.-bred actor calmed fans by announcing that he was negotiating with Showtime – where he landed a lead role on a new series “Ray Donovan” – to have a recurring role on “The Game.”
On Aug. 8, 2012, AlwaysAList.com reported that Hall would actually be coming back to the show.
But things apparently did not go as planned for the 36-year-old actor, and though he had received approval from Showtime to return, he wasn’t asked back by “The Game.”
“I did my part,” Hall explained via his Twitter handle @iam_PoochHall. “I was ready to be the 2sho kid … but it didn’t work out that way.”
Fans discovered he wouldn’t be included on season six when the new show promos premiered with no sign of Derwin. Hall also retweeted some messages from fans who lashed out at BET for not having him back, an act that raised the eyebrow of one former co-star.
“The Game’s” Hosea Chanchez didn’t like that Hall was giving fans a platform to bash the show that made him famous and in an open letter on Twitter, he called Hall’s actions “inappropriate.”
Not to be outdone, in a follow-up tweet to a fan, Hall made a sarcastic reference to Chanchez “still” being on the show.
“The Game” returns with new stars Lauren London and Jay Ellis at 10pm ET on March 26.
