She may no longer be a full-time cast member on Bravo’s “Real Housewives of Atlanta,” but reality star Porsha Williams has created a ratings spike on her main gig “Dish Nation.”
The 33-year-old socialite joined the news magazine show as a part of the “Rickey Smiley Morning Show” crew this summer after weeks of guest-hosting for departing radio talent Ebony Steele.
A Fox executive told AlwaysAList.com that Williams was hired because she tested well with focus groups, had great chemistry with comedian Rickey Smiley and the show saw a ratings boost when she was on.
Apparently, the ex-wife of retired NFL star Kordell Stewart continues to pack a punch as recent ratings show “Dish Nation” is up 20-percent over last year. The show has a 1.1 for its overall rating and is performing at a 40-percent increase in the 25 to 54 demographic.
Overall, “Dish Nation” rates sixth among its competition, falling in line behind top-rated “Entertainment Tonight;” “Inside Edition” in second; “TMZ” in third; “Access Hollywood” in fourth and “Extra!” in sixth place.
“Dish Nation” is distributed by Twentieth Television and airs in more than 60-percent of the country. The show also airs on cable network TV One.
