Good news for “Preachers of L.A.” Oxygen Media is bringing back the show for a second season.
The reality show based on the lives of preachers Bishop Noel Jones, former pastor Deitrick Haddon, Bishop Clarence McClendon, Pastor Jay Haizlip, Pastor Wayne Chaney and Bishop Ron Gibson averaged one-million total viewers each week.
No word on if the entire cast from season one will return for the second season.
The show, produced by L. Plummer Media in association with Relevé Entertainment, will also be expanding. Oxygen Media is considering doing spin-off versions in New York, Atlanta, Dallas, and Detroit, the network announced on Monday.
“Preachers of L.A.” has faced a lot of backlash from the Christian community since it premiered last fall. One of the show’s stars, the 40-year-old Haddon, was marred in an online scandal mid-way through the season when a former mistress from his married years released photos of his penis and private letters from their affair to the blog FunkyDineva.com.
