It’s the controversial reality show that is already receiving tremendous backlash from the Christian community, but before its Oct. 9 television premiere, Oxygen has made the first episode of “Preachers of LA” available for viewers to watch online.
Made up of Los Angeles-based pastors Bishop Noel Jones, Bishop Clarence McClendon, Pastor Wayne Chaney, Bishop Ron Gibson, Pastor Jay Haizlip and former pastor/Gospel singer Deitrick Haddon, “Preachers of LA” chronicles the behind-the-scenes aspects of these preachers lives.
In between their spirited services and Biblical references, “Preachers of LA” is catching hell for its showcase of ostentatious wealth and extravagant lifestyles. ABC’s “Dateline” did a news special on the reality show that was far from flattering.
A description of the show produced by L. Plummer Media in association with Relevé Entertainment provided by Oxygen read: “‘Pastors of L.A.’ will give viewers a candid and revealing look at six boldly different and world renowned mega-pastors in Southern California, who are willing to share diverse aspects of their lives, from their work in the community and with their parishioners to the very large and sometimes provocative lives they lead away from the pulpit.”
Now, you can view the first episode of the show yourself to determine if this is a reality show documenting balanced Christian men or one that will bring more scrutiny and reproach on the Christian church.
You be the judge!
