Rolonda Watts: Lends New Voice To “Divorce Court”

Rolonda Watts

TV host and sought-after voiceover talent Rolonda Watts is the new announcer for the syndicated court series “Divorce Court.”

Watts joins the long-running show, hosted by Judge Lynn Toler, after more than 10 years of being the announcer on “Judge Joe Brown,” which was cancelled in March 2013.

“I am absolutely thrilled to be the new announcer for the longest-running television court series in American history, ‘Divorce Court,'” Watts told AlwaysAList.com.

“Divorce Court” originally premiered in 1957 and aired until 1969. The show returned again in 1985 and ended in 1992.

In 1999, during a wave of new court shows launching, “Divorce Court” returned for a third time with Judge Mablean Ephriam overseeing things.

After eight seasons – 27 for the show overall – Ephriam left the series and Toler was named her replacement.

The current edition of the show is on season 15, which is season 34 for the franchise as a whole.

In addition to her work on “Divorce Court,” the Winston-Salem, North Carolina-bred voiceover actor will also star opposite Tyler Perry in “Madea’s Kids,” the filmmaker’s first animated movie.

“It’s Tyler’s first animated feature and I’m excited to be apart. Listen out for my voice as Tyler’s nemesis,” she shared.

Watts hosts a weekly radio show called “Sundays with Rolonda” on the Tavis Smiley Network and is a regular contributor on HLN’s “Jane Velez-Mitchell” show.

Additionally, the former daytime talk show host’s voice can be heard in countless television and radio commercial ads.
