Comedienne Sherri Shepherd has signed on to host season two of WE TV’s Black bachelor series “Match Made In Heaven.”
The former “The View” co-host—who returned to the ABC talk show as the lead contributor this season—will both host and executive produce the reality show.
“During my time co-hosting The View, I was always talking about the need for an African-American bachelor on television,” the star of “Ride Along 2” told Deadline. “When We TV approached me about partnering up with them I had to say yes. Words can’t describe the amount of fun I’ve had working on this show.”
In an overhaul of the show, WE TV decided to add a host and restructure other elements of the dating series. Shepherd signed on to host and produce the series, which will have 22 accomplished women vying for a shot at dating this season’s bachelor, former NFL player Stevie Baggs Jr.
Sources close to the production told AlwaysAList.com that WE TV wanted to “class the show up some” after last season. Season one’s bachelor Shawn Bullard had nude photos surface during his tenure on the show, in addition, he has continued to post risqué photos of himself in his underwear since the show has wrapped.
The sophomore season of “Match Made In Heaven” returns in July.
