Life After: “Single Ladies” Lands New Network

Single Ladies

AlwaysAList.com reported on April 1 that the recently canceled VH1 drama “Singles Ladies” was in discussions with BET to possibly move that channel.

At the time of our report, BET Networks did not deny our story and sent a comment via a network publicist saying: “We can not comment at this time.”

Now, AlwaysAList.com can report that the one-hour drama starring LisaRaye McCoy, Charity Shea and Denise Vasi will now air on BET’s sister channel Centric, which has ordered a fourth season on the series.

Cast of “Single Ladies”

Best known for producing the annual Soul Train Music Awards and the new bio series “Being,” Centric has been BET’s less popular counterpart over the years and could really benefit from the strong ratings “Single Ladies” landed while on VH1.

It’s still shocking to most the VH1 cancelled the drama produced by Queen Latifah’s Flavor Unit Entertainment, as the show premiered with 2.9 million viewers, season two had 3.2 million and season three boasted 3.5 million. Flavor Unit Entertainment also produces the BET sitcom “Let’s Stay Together.”

No date on when “Singles Ladies” will head back into production and whether its additional cast members – D.B. Woodside, Terrell Tilford, Harold House Moore, Travis Winfrey, LeToya Luckett and Damien Dante Wayans – will transition with the show.
