Tia Mowry has landed a new starring role following her surprise departure from BET’s “The Game” early this year.
The 34-year-old actress, who also stars alongside her twin sister Tamera Mowry-Housley on the Style Network reality series “Tia & Tamera,” is in negotiations to star in the family comedy “Instant Mom” for Nick at Nick.
“Instant Mom” centers on a 25-year-old party girl (Mowry) “who trades in cosmos for carpools when she marries an older man with kids,” according to Deadline. The show was written by Warren Bell and Jessica Butler loosely based on their real life.
This would mark Mowry’s first scripted comedy since leaving “The Game,” where she starred alongside actor Pooch Hall for five seasons on the CW and BET respectively.
The actress, who is married to actor Cory Hardrict and has a one-year old son Cree Taylor Hardrict, recently published her first book, “Oh, Baby: Pregnancy Tales and Advice from One Hot Mama to Another,” about her pregnancy and being a working mom.
