TJ Holmes

Fans are wondering when BET will begin airing new episodes of T.J. Holmes “Don’t Sleep.”

The late-night series, initially billed as a “Jon Stewart, Stephen Colbert-type show,” has not filmed an episode since Dec. 19, reports Richard Prince’s Journal-isms column.

When asked about the return of the show, a spokeswoman from BET told Journal-isms: “not yet determined.”

AlwaysAList.com reported on Nov. 12 that Holmes’ show was facing trouble because of disappointing ratings.

BET announced that it was revamping the show from a 30-minute series four nights a week to a weekly one-hour show.Stephen Hill, President of Music Programming & Specials, told AlwaysAList.com that the change had nothing to do with ratings, but was the network’s way of meeting fan demand.

“The number of people who have asked for this show to be one hour is incredible. That is absolutely for real. Because of other commitments, we couldn’t do an hour nightly,” he told us.

Then on Dec. 29, the 35-year-old former CNN anchor guest hosted on MSNBC. Holmes’ appearance on the network had social media buzzing with speculation that the “Don’t Sleep” host may have jumped ship.
