WGN America premieres their new drama “Underground” on Wednesday, March 9 at 10pm ET.
The series follows the journey of plantation slaves as they join together to fight for their lives and the freedom of their families.
The series, far from what you would expect from a slave series, is look at history like you’ve never seen it before. Put it this way, these slaves aren’t any punks!
“Underground” boasts a skilled ensemble of actors, including Jurnee Smollett-Bell, Aldis Hodge, Christopher Meloni, Adina Porter, Amirah Vann, Mykelti Williamson, Alano Miller, Jessica De Gouw, Johnny Ray Gill, Renwick Scott, Theodus Crane and Marc Blucas.
The anticipated drama is produced Mike Jackson and Akiva Goldsman and directed by Anthony Hemingway. Oscar winner John Legend is also an executive producer on “Underground” and he also served as music supervisor for the series.
Just days after the show concluded filming in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, AlwaysAList.com flew to Hollywood to interview the cast at the W Hotel Los Angeles.
