Usher Raymond’s long and arduous custody battled with his ex-wife Tameka Foster ended on Aug. 24, when Superior Court Judge Bensonetta Tipton Lane granted the singer primary custody of his two sons, Raymond V, 4, and Naviyd, 3.
The 33-year-old pop star—the subject of numerous erroneous stories and false reports pertaining to both the custody battle and the drama surrounding the death of Foster’s 11-year-old son Kile—maintained his silence throughout the cantankerous courtroom battle.
Being billed as the “only interview he’ll do on this issue,” Usher told Winfrey that he’s “never going to talk again about” this part of his life again after her exclusive with him.
Taped at a guest house on the grounds of his home in Atlanta, the “Next Chapter” interview also includes his mom Jonetta Patton—breaking her silence after eight years and finally discussing the daughter-in-law she never wanted!
The interview was done in secret, only revealed following Usher and the former Mrs. Raymond’s court follow-up on Sept. 11.
I’m told that Usher’s fortysomething ex-wife will be particularly troubled by the “Next Chapter” interview, because a network source confirmed to AlwaysAList.com that Foster had been pitching a reality show starring herself to Winfrey’s OWN Network this past summer and the billionaire mogul passed on it.
Foster—whom a psychologist testified in court has a “moderately severe mental disorder”—is supposedly now filing an appeal of the custody verdict and asking for a new trial claiming “bias.”
The former stylist accused the judge overseeing the case of having strong ties to Usher’s lawyer, who served on the judge’s 2008 re-election campaign.
Unfortunately, unbeknownst to Foster, her own co-counsel was hired by a law firm that also contributed to the judge’s re-election coffers. That fact was not made known until Usher’s attorney filed a response to Foster’s claims.
So much for the “bias” appeal!
