Gone Gospel: Gladys Knight Readying New CD

Seven-time Grammy winner Gladys Knight is no stranger to Gospel music.

With more than 40 recorded albums under her belt, Knight has previously released two gospel CDs — “Many Different Roads” (1998) and “One Voice” (2005).

Now Knight, who appeared on season 14 of ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars,” is gearing up for her third Gospel offering, “Where My Heart Belongs.”

“I vividly remember the time in my life when I felt lost, as if something was missing,” said Knight. “I was desperately seeking answers and when I finally found the answer, I learned that it was Jesus Christ. He gave me this gift and out of obedience, I want to give Him back to the listeners.”

The 11-track “Where My Heart Belongs” will be released on September 9 via Shadow Mountain Records for Deseret Book, the largest Latter Day Saint book publisher.

In 1997, “The Empress of Soul” became a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints after the influence of her late son Jimmy Newman.
