“This is an amazing accomplishment,” commented Mort Marcus and Ira Bernstein, co-presidents of Debmar-Mercury. “To have the No. 1 show in the category most important to advertisers, a record-setting household performance and phenomenal year-to-year growth is astounding. It is a lasting testament to Wendy, their fantastic team and the many stations across the country that have believed so strongly in Wendy. We couldn’t be more thrilled.”
The success of its latest season will likely extend the run of “The Wendy Williams Show.” The talk show has already been renewed on Fox TV stations through the 2016-2017 season.
Williams’ daytime talk show made its debut as a six-week sneak peak in the summer of 2008.
After years of being one of the industry’s most successful radio show jocks, the 50-year-old TV host left her long-running New York City radio gig to become a full time talk show host once her show was picked up and officially premiered in July 2009.
