El DeBarge: Staging Another Comeback?
Is El DeBarge signing a new record deal Epic Records?
During a recent appearance on “The Talk” to celebrate Sheryl Underwood’s birthday, DeBarge said in the post performance interview that he “wasn’t at liberty to say which label I’m signing with,” but then laughed and said: “Hello, L.A. Reid!”
DeBarge continued: “You can expect a brand new CD from me. One is for the holidays, a Christmas CD. The other one is a grown man, grown woman album.”

The 53-year-old R&B veteran released a comeback CD in 2010 called “Second Chance” on Interscope Records. Despite two singles, the title track and ‘Lay With You’ featuring Faith Evans, the album had great momentum until DeBarge had a setback with his sobriety and had to check into a rehab facility.
Despite the album not meeting sales projections because of DeBarge’s personal problems, he still garnered three Grammy Award nominations.
A former member of his family band, DeBarge, the Detroit-bred crooner is best known for hit songs like ‘Rhythm Of The Night, ‘Love Me In A Special Way,’ ‘All This Love,’ ‘Time Will Reveal’ and his appearance alongside Al B. Sure, Barry White and James Ingram on Quincy Jones’ track, ‘Secret Garden.’
