Sequel: “Hollywood Divas” Renewed For Season Two
TV One has renewed its newest reality series “Hollywood Divas.”
The ensemble series made up of actresses Golden Brooks (“Girlfriends”), Countess Vaughn (“The Parkers”), Paula Jai Parker (“Hustle & Flow”), Elise Neal (“The Hughleys”) and former reality star Lisa Wu (“Real Housewives of Atlanta”) will return for a second season. During the season, the cast worked together on a short film called “The White Sistas.”
The renewal was announced during part-two of the “Hollywood Divas” reunion episode, which was hosted by the show’s executive producer Carlos King. The series’ other executive producer Todd Tucker also participated in the reunion, facilitating questions from the audience.

“The strong social media and viewer response to ‘Hollywood Divas’ made TV One renewing this insider’s look at Black Hollywood a no-brainer,” said D’Angela Proctor, SVP of Programming and Production for TV One.
Despite the success of “Hollywood Divas,” the show has spawned controversy and potential litigation for the network. The initial announcement of “Hollywood Divas” was billed as a spin-off of the network’s highly-successful “R&B Divas” franchise, though the producers of “R&B Divas” were apparently not credited nor compensated for the show. That matter is pending.
Additionally, the success of “Hollywood Divas” has already generated talk of expansion to other cities. There’s buzz that the show could expand to Atlanta next, where so many working actresses have relocated to because of the booming acting scene there.
