Major Milestone: Tyler Perry’s “Love Thy Neighbor” Approaching Syndication Numbers
Fans watch iconic sitcoms like “Martin,” “Good Times,” “The Fresh Prince of Bel Air,” “The Jefferson’s,” “227” and “Girlfriends” in repeat episodes that air in syndication, but get ready to add Tyler Perry’s comedy “Love They Neighbor” to that mix.
Since its launch in 2013 on Oprah Winfrey’s OWN channel, “Love They Neighbor” has taped over 90 episodes. In order to reach the benchmark for syndication on other stations—something that is very profitable typically for the actors that star on these shows—a series has to have produced and aired over 100 episodes.
“Love They Neighbor” star Palmer Williams who plays Floyd Jackson on the sitcom said he’s looking forward to reaching the syndication milestone in an interview with ABC News Radio contributor Karu F. Daniels.

“That’s history-making, ya know, to be able to do that on cable or otherwise. So we’re actually approaching 100 episodes and we’ll be able to be in syndication, which is so very important, especially for any show, let alone an African-American show on cable,” he expressed.
“Love They Neighbor” is not Perry’s first sitcom to move into syndication. His previous TBS comedies “House of Payne” and “Meet The Browns” are both reached the syndication number and reruns of both shows air daily on various channels.
Watch “Love Thy Neighbor” — currently one of Perry’s four series on the OWN Network — on Fridays at 9 pm ET.
