Legendary Birth: John Legend & Chrissy Teigen Welcome First Child

Hollywood couple John Legend and his wife Chrissy Teigen welcomed their first child on Thursday, April 14, they revealed on social media Sunday.

The Oscar and Grammy winning entertainer wrote on his Twitter page: “Our new love is here! Luna Simone Stephens, born on Thursday, the 14th. We couldn’t be happier!”

Teigen, a model and cookbook author, also shared the news via Instagram. She wrote alongside a screenshot of the baby’s size — 6 lbs., 11 oz: “She’s here! Luna Simone Stephens, we are so in love with you! And sleepy. Very sleepy.”

The 37-yar-old Legend and 30-year-old Teigen wed in September 2013 after four years of dating.

The former host of ABC’s recently canceled talk show “FABLife” went through In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) to conceive and actually chose a female embryo during the process. That decision was a bit controversial for some and caused some backlash from parenting groups.

The two plan to have additional children and have frozen additional embryos for when they begin to expand their family.
