A-List Rides: 2018 Kia Forte5 SX Is Small But A Makes Big Impression

I’m consistently impressed by the evolution of Kia vehicles. Each time I review one of their vehicles, I’m always pleasantly surprised that their car design and functionality continue to be elevated. That was pretty much the impact that the 2018 Kia Forte5 SX had on me.

What I like about the current year model of the Kia Forte5 SX is that it really is the marriage of two thoughts: those who need a practical vehicle that works for daily needs and errands and those who want a car with a little muscle. This whip has the best of both words.

And it’s an attractive vehicle. See, I have a standing brunch appointment when I’m not traveling and this particular Sunday, the brunch spot my group of professional friends select is in picturesque Old Town Alexandria, an area about 8 miles outside of Washington, DC in Northern Virginia. (As you’ll see in the video, my midnight blue version had red accent features that add to the cool-factor.)

It’s not an area where you want to drive up in an unattractive car, so the hip, trendy design of the Kia Forte5 is perfect.

This car has an impressive ride for a compact and packs enough punch to make driving fun. Acceleration is strong – I mean, not NASCAR strong, but it good enough for assertive driving on the highway for sure. And despite being a smaller car, road noise is minimal and doesn’t distract from the music.

The Forte5 was good on gas as well. I boasted 25 miles per gallon in the city and 30 miles per gallon on the highway.

Spin Control: With a price range starting at $18,200 and going upwards of $23,800 (really worth the extra money), the 2018 Kia Forte5 SX is an awesome small sized option that gives you a lot of bang for your buck.
