Premium Practicality: The 2019 Kia Forte EX Excels

Some major automotive manufacturers like Ford are ceasing production on their sedan models because they aren’t selling cars anymore. There’s a belief that people only want SUV’s and crossover vehicles. Some car experts believe that other auto brands will soon follow suit.

I don’t know if I believe that or not – we all know consumers are fickle – but what I do know is that if other brands kept elevating their vehicle offering like Kia does each time they launch a vehicle, they could remain in the car business and not completely abandon it for trucks as well.

Each year, I’m impressed with the growth and advance Kia makes with its vehicles. And in the sedan class, their 2019 Kia Forte EX is no exception.

The Forte was Kia’s best selling vehicle for 2018 and sold better than the Kia Sportage and Sorento SUVs. The car could do that again in 2019.

Here’s the thing, if you’re looking for an athletic performance vehicle, this isn’t the option by any means. But if you’re looking for affordable comfort, great amenities and a whole lot of bang for your buck; well you may want to schedule your own test drive asap!

The all-new 2019 boasts an exterior design inspired by the brand’s high-performance Stinger sedan and has an array of tech offerings, safety features and upper trim offerings all for a very reasonable price point.

Even though the Forte is an economy car, it doesn’t skim on comfort. You can take long drives or be stuck in traffic in this car and the seats are surprisingly comfortable.

Kia offers an excellent infotainment system in the Forte with an eight-inch touchscreen neatly rising from the dash. The car has dual USB charging ports and a wireless charging pad.

There’s respectable cargo space for a sedan its size.

Lastly, the Forte’s in-cabin level of noise is exceptional. I found it to be one of the quietest cars in its class that I’ve driven.

Favorite Feature: Wireless charging pad & price tag

Least Favorite Feature: Lack of driving performance

Spin Control: With a starting price tag at $21,990, you may just want to go ahead and buy two of these cars for its value.
