Ride Along: The 2019 Ford Ranger XLT 4WD SuperCrew Has Pickup Practicality
One of the great things about testing cars and trucks and timing a vehicle around specific needs going on in my life.
For example, it was late July and one of my good friends was going to be moving to a new apartment. Now I certainly wasn’t up for any heavy lifting, but it worked out perfectly that the weekend of his move I was test driving the 2019 Ford Ranger XLT 4WD SuperCrew.
I was the official driver for the relocation and since my friend decided he wanted mainly new furniture for this move, the majority of our transit included moving bags of clothes, personal items and smaller trinkets. But having this truck and its hauling bed in the back was ideal.
The 2019 Ford Ranger XLT 4WD SuperCrew is a compact pickup. It’s easy to drive, not overwhelming in size and maneuvers easily because of its practical size. This model is Ford’s return to the compact truck space after taking time away from it, but bringing a model like this back fits into the new Ford focus of being mainly a truck and SUV brand.
The Ranger boasts 270 horsepower at 5,500 rpm and the towing capacity is 3,500 pounds (clearly we weren’t moving anything close to that weight).
The second row in the Ranger SuperCab model isn’t as spacious as you’d like, but it’s manageable.
The amenities are simple and the truck functions easy to follow, however Ford isn’t using luxury interior furnishings and design functions for this compact truck.
If you have a small business and hauling is part of your operation or if you’re regularly moving large quantities of things in your personal life and need a vehicle that like the Ford Ranger, this could be ideal for you.
Favorite Features: Car exterior design and plenty of USB ports
Least Favorite Feature: second row seating could be more spacious
Spin Control: At about $34,295, you could get a practical compact pickup truck that’s stylish and not overbearing.
