TV Host & Pop Culture Expert Jawn Murray participated in TV One’s Virtual Town Hall for their documentary, “The Beat Don’t Stop.”

In a conversation led by radio personality DJ Quicksilva, Murray joined CNN contributor April Ryan, radio personality Big Brother Konan, music executive Bo Sampson, Go-Go star and actor Anwan “Big G” Glover, Howard University Assistant Professor Dr. Natalie Hopkinson, radio personality Vic Jagger and Don’t Mute DC co-founder Ron Moten. They were also joined by Washington, DC Mayor Muriel Bowser.

During the virtual town hall, the discuss the history and legacy of Go-Go music in Washington D.C., how the music serves as a platform for African Americans to address issues such as class struggles, gentrification, and the music’s impact on black culture.
