Melissa Harris-Perry: MSNBC Host’s Home Destroyed By Hurricane Isaac
MSNBC host Melissa Harris-Perry’s newly purchased New Orleans home was destroyed by the impact of Hurricane Isaac.
Harris-Perry and her husband James Perry had just purchased the home in July and she tweeted photos of the property to her Twitter followers from official account @MHarrisPerry.
The house was originally devastated by Hurricane Katrina in 2005, and Harris-Perry and her husband was hoping to restore the property, make it livable again and transform it into their dream home.
Ironically, the 38-year-old professor had just recognized the anniversary of Hurricane Katrina on the Sunday broadcast of her MSNBC show and gave viewers a tour of her future fixer-upper and her planned “extreme home makeover.”
Harris-Perry also tweeted followers to thank them for “their kind words and prayer” after the home was destroyed.
Harris-Perry is a professor at Tulane University in New Orleans during the week and commutes to New York City on the weekend for two-day live MSNBC show.
