United: Fred Hammond, Dave Hollister, Brian Courtney Wilson & Eric Roberson Form Group

Gospel veteran Fred Hammond has formed a new group.

The Detroit-bred singer/songwriter/musician/producer, who was thrust on the music scene in the ’80’s in the iconic gospel group, Commissioned, has created a new quartet with four singers from various genres.

Hammond’s new group, United Tenors, is made of fellow gospel singer Brian Courtney Wilson and R&B stars Dave Hollister and Eric Roberson.

“A few years back I heard a sound in the heavens of men singing contemporary praise and worship. The sound felt familiar but was still one I really hadn’t heard before,” shared Hammond. “United Tenors is not a revamped or rehashed movement, it’s a new moment with a familiar God and Savior attached to it, new wine for this season.”

Hammond describes United Tenors as “men worshiping, inviting and gathering other men to come and worship,” and believes they’ll be “another instrument used by God to lead families and communities to have a fresh experience with the Lord.”United Tenors first single, ‘Here In Our Praise’ was just released by RCA Gospel, the label (formerly known as Verity Records) that will release the CD.

The single has just been serviced to radio outlets, and will be available on iTunes starting Feb. 19.

The group’s debut CD, “United Tenors: Hammond Hollister Roberson Wilson” will be released in stores and online on March 26.
