Comes Out: Clive Davis Makes Bisexual Confession In Memoir

Music mogul Clive Davis is making the media rounds to support his new memoir, “The Soundtrack of My Life.”

For the first time, the 80-year-old music aficionado opens up about his “bisexual life,” sharing stories about his encounter with several men over the years.

The twice married and divorced, father of four, had never before publically addressed his sexuality before releasing this book.

In a candid five-page section of the memoir, Davis wrote that he first had a sexual experience with a man during “the era of Studio 54.”

“On this night, after imbibing enough alcohol, I was open to responding to his sexual overtures,” wrote Davis, who said he had only been with women before. Being with a man, he wrote, provided “welcome relief.”

He explained that after doing some “soul searching and self-analysis,” he separated from his second wife in 1985, and said that he went on to have simultaneous relationships with two women and a man.

In 1990, Davis entered into a “monogamous relationship” with a male doctor, but he does not name him. Although the relationship ended in 2004, the executive said he has been in a subsequent relationship with another man ever since.

In the tome he admitted that his sexual confession caused great issue with one of his sons, Mitchell. But apparently after “one very trying year,” the two worked through their differences.

The sexuality confession is only a small portion of the 608 pages of reflection of a storied career that includes his work with the Aretha Franklin, Bruce Springsteen, Kelly Clarkson, Bob Dylan, Alicia Keys, and others.

“The Soundtrack of My Life” also talks about the infamous Milli Vanilli lip-syncing controversy, and has detail of Davis’ most notable work and relationship with the late Whitney Houston.

The book, released by Simon & Schuster, is out today.
