Kelly Rowland: Replacing Britney Spears On “The X Factor?”

Former Destiny’s Child superstar Kelly Rowland is rumored to be the replacement for Britney Spears on the American version of Simon Cowell’s “The X Factor.”

Rowland is no stranger to the “The X Factor” franchise, having been a judge in 2011 on the UK edition of the show.

The 32-year-old singer famously feuded with fellow judge Tulisa Contostavlo while on the show. Rowland opted to leave the show to focus on her music endeavors after one season.

But according to the UK’s Daily Mail, Cowell has remained high on the “Motivation” singer and wants her for the US version of competition series.

“Kelly knows The X Factor, she’s aware of what it takes to be a judge and she’s also outspoken,” a source told the Daily Mail.

“Simon has always remained a fan of Kelly’s and she’s most definitely in the mix to join the judging panel on X Factor USA.”If the speculation is true, the Houston-bred talent would join Demi Lovato and a second new judge, since music executive L.A. Reid departed the show after the second season.

Swapping out US judges and UK judges is not foreign to Cowell, who hired former Pussycat Dolls front woman Nicole Scherzinger to join the judging panel of the UK version of “The X Factor” despite firing her from the US version.

No official word from Rowland, Cowell or Fox on reports of her joining the judging panel.
