A-List Rides: 2013 Chevrolet Equinox
Road trip! The best way to test drive a vehicle is to put it on the highway. That’s what I did after an appearance on the nationally syndicated “Wendy Williams Show” in New York City recently with the 2013 Chevrolet Equinox.
After picking up the crossover vehicle from a garage in downtown New York City, I had OnStar download driving directions to my navigational unit and hopped on 95 South with a few snacks, a small piece of luggage and three to four hours of drive time ahead of me – depending on the traffic at 3:30pm.
The Equinox was smooth and sturdy on the highway, gliding as I changed lanes and offering enough power to make accelerating or passing other vehicles seem effortless. I felt safe in the Equinox even in the midst of the tractor trailers and rush hour traffic.
It was spacious for me alone and definitely would be ideal for families on a road trip or daily maneuvering around in the city.
The interior functions were easy to navigate. I used an auxiliary plug to attach my iPod so my personal playlist would be the soundtrack to my trip. There were also plenty of holders for my drink, the case for my sunglasses and my hand sanitizer (a necessity after handing money to the attendants at the toll booths).
I got great gas mileage on the Equinox too. Upon arriving in the DC area I had only used a little more than a half tank of gas.
Spin Control: They start around $24,000 and they’re worth every penny. After putting the Equinox on the road its no wonder this vehicle has become a sales powerhouse for the Chevy brand.
