NAACP Image Awards: Moves To New Network Home

The NAACP Image Awards are moving to cable.

After years of airing on Fox and NBC respectively, the annual awards show will now broadcast on the TV One network.

The airing of the 45th NAACP Image Awards in February 2014 will be the first to air on TV One.

The NAACP Image Awards honors “the accomplishments of people of color in the fields of television, music, literature and film and also honors individuals or groups who promote social justice through creative endeavors.”

In addition to the live awards broadcast, TV One will show live red carpet arrivals as well. There will also be cross promotion with TV One’s sister companies Radio One and Interactive One.

Nominees for the 45th NAACP Image Awards will be announced in January.
