Fresh Voices: New Singers Added To Both “R&B Divas” Casts
The “R&B Divas” franchise has finalized its new cast members for both its Atlanta and Los Angeles ensembles.
Now that Faith Evans, Nicci Gilbert and LaTocha Scott are no longer on the Atlanta cast, former 702 lead singer Meelah Williams and original Destiny’s Child member LaTavia Roberson have joined that cast.
Returning to the flagship city are Syleena Johnson, KeKe Wyatt, Monifah and Angie Stone.
Production for the third season of “R&B Divas: Atlanta” is underway and half of its season has already been filmed. The show is slated to return in early 2014.
New cast members have also been announced for “R&B Divas: Los Angeles.”
With Kelly Price and En Vogue’s Dawn Robinson exiting the series, TV One has cast Grammy-winner Chrisette Michelle and neo-soul darling Leela James to lineup.
Returning singers from season one include Lil’ Mo, Michel’le, Chanté Moore, and Claudette Ortiz of City High.
Taping for the second season of the spin-off city began this week in L.A. and the show should air on TV One sometime mid-2014.
The “R&B Divas” franchise has been a breakout success for the cable network TV One.
